
traditional malabar recipe inspired by Ummi Abdullah
Instructions
- clean and soak rice in water for 4-5 hour.
- extract coconut milk from 1 nos coconut.
- take the rice ,drain water completely.add this to a processor.then add the coconut milk in to it.grind well and make a fine smooth batter
- then add egg in to it.beat well for few minutes ,add salt and mix well.
- take a steamer,grease with ghee .then add 2 table spoon full of batter.cover with lid .then cook well for 5-10 minutes.
- mean time beat the rest of the batter
- after 5-10 minutes remove the lid.spread ghee on top of it. then add another two table spoon batter.cover with a lid.cook for 10 more minutes,repeat the same till the vessel become full.once done switch off the stove .cut in to desired size and shape.
- serve hot with chicken curry.
Recipe Notes
don't forget to add ghee in between each layers.add batter as per your vessel size.the batter is thin and smooth but not too watery.use only coconut milk for making the batter.do not add water.
