
(Chettinad style fried fish)
Today’s special is a hot,simple and delicious fish fry from the famous Chettinad cuisine (chettinad region of Tamil Nadu state in South India).Chettinad cuisine offers different types of non vegetarian and vegetarian dishes with a unique flavor of chettinad masala,most of the dishes are spicy and delicious.

This is a simple fish fry with less ingredients and very easy to prepare. Marination is the most important part minimum one hour you have to wait.then only you will get the exact taste.Use less oil and if possible use a grid iron (tawa) for frying the fish.

here is the recipe of spicy and delicious chettinad meen varuval or fish fry.

- 650 g Fish slices
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1/4 turmeric powder table spoon
- 3/4 garlic paste table spoon
- 3/4 ginger paste table spoon
- 3/4 tablespoon shallot crushed
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- salt
- oil

- clean and wash fish pieces.drain water and marinate the fish pieces with salt and lemon juice.keep aside for 10 minutes.
- in a bowl add chili powder ,turmeric powder,coriander powder,ginger and garlic paste.crushed shallot and salt.mix well and make a smooth paste add water if required.
- marinate fish with this paste and set aside for one hour.
- heat oil in a pan or tawa,shallow fry the fish pieces.turning over to cook both sides.
- serve hot with rice.
I used Pomfret.7 large pieces .
Including marination time total time requirement is 1 hr 35 minutes.
Add spices and lemon juice as per your taste preference.
