- 1 small tender jack fruit
- 4 nos green chili
- 3/4 cup coconut grated
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 5 nos shallot
- 4 nos red chili
- salt
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- water

- cut jack fruit in to half.remove stem and top portion.dice them and remove skin.remove the center stalck (the hard part) and cut in to medium size pieces.
- pressure cook the cleaned jack fruit with little water ,salt and turmeric powder for 1-2 whistle.
- when it is done switch of the stove and keep aside
- meantime crush grated coconut,cumin,green chili and shallot.keep aside
- shred the cooked jack fruit pieces by pounding them using a pestle or food processor.then mix it with crushed coconut.
- heat oil in a pan splutter mustard seeds,then add curry leaves and red chili pieces ,saute well.then add shredded jack fruit in to it. mix well and cook in a very low flame for a couple of minutes.remove the lid check salt consistency,add more if needed.
- mix well and saute for a minute.switch of the stove and serve with rice..
Recipe Notes
apply coconut oil or cooking oil in your hand before cleaning the jack fruit, so that you can avoid gum of the jack fruit sticking to your hand.
