Lassi is a very popular and traditional Indian summer drink Originated in Punjab,India.Traditional lassi is a blend of natural yogurt, water and spices or some times fruits. Lassi is traditionally served in handless earthen pots called khulhar(disposable clay bowl made with mud), with cream (malai). Lassi is considered to be one of the oldest smoothie’s in the world.
Lassi comes in mainly two varieties, sweet and salty.Salty lassi is a blend of yogurt salt and spices some times with mint.Fruit variation with fresh fruits.One of the most demanding variation is sweet Mango Lassi.
Lassi is very smooth and creamy.It has incredible cooling properties.One of my favorite lassi is sweet mango lassi. Its really cooling,rich,smooth and sweet.Its a blend of fresh ripe mangoes,natural yogurt,milk,sugar and cardamom.I always prefer Alphonso mangoes or Kesar mangoes for making my lassi,because these mangoes are very creamy and sweet.You can make lassi with any of your favorite fruit.

- 2 fresh and ripe Mangoes Peeled and chopped
- 1 1/2 cup fresh natural yogurt chilled
- 1/2 cup milk chilled
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 pinch cardamom powder
- crushed pistachios to garnish
- Add the mangoes,sugar,cardamom powder and milk in a blender and blend until smooth
- Add the yogurt and blend again
- Pour in to glasses,garnish with crushed pistachios and serve immediately.
