Netholi/methala/kozhuva/podimeen is a small common salt water fish,a rich source of calcium and minerals.We are calling this fish “Methala”.This is my son Aadhi’s favorite fish.yesterday we bought some fresh netholi from lulu and i decided to make netholi fry.

here is a simple netholi fry recipe with four ingredient’s.Cleaned fish marinated with paste of chili ,turmeric ,rice flour and lemon juice,salt and oil is a must don’t forget.

Ingredients
- 250 g fish anchovy Netholi /
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 / 4 teaspoons turmeric powder
- 3/4 teaspoon rice flour
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- salt
- coconut oil

Instructions
- clean and wash the fish (clean fish add salt rub it well,then wash several times)
- in a bowl add all ingredients except fish and oil.add little water mix well make a fine paste
- marinate cleaned fish with this
- keep aside for 15-30 minutes.
- heat oil in a pan and deep fry the fishes in a medium flame.
- serve hot as a starter or side dish.
Can you please tell me if lulu cleans the fish or we have to do it ourself. I have no idea how to clean such a small fish.
