Ingredients

  1. clean fish and cut in to medium size cubes.peel mango and make 3-4 long slices
  2. cut onion in to thin slices.cut tomato in to long pieces.
  3. chop ginger and shallots.split green chili length wise.
  4. heat oil in a fish curry pot(mud vessel).add curry leaves .thinly sliced onion and chopped ginger.saute well till onion becomes soft.add tomato ,saute well .
  5. add chilly powder and turmeric saute till the oil comes up.
  6. add sliced mangoes and saute for few minutes in a low medium flame.
  7. add 1/2 of the coconut milk.
  8. when it starts boiling add fish pieces.
  9. cover with a lid and cook in a low medium flame.
  10. swirl the pot occasionally.
  11. once 3/4 of the fish cooked add the remaining coconut milk.swirl the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  12. switch off the stove.
  13. heat oil in another pan splutter fenugreek,then add curry leaves and chopped shallots.saute till shallot becomes brown
  14. switch off the stove and add this to the fish curry.
  15. cover with a lid.
  16. serve with rice or chapati.
